On Sunday, hundreds of anash gathered in Sydney and Melbourne in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz.
The gatherings were part of the global campaign to have all 1,562 of the Rebbe’s maamarim learned by anash worldwide.
In Melbourne, 200 people collectively learned over 100 maamarim at a chavrusa learning event arranged by Mr. Josh Goldhirsch. In Sydney, an evening coordinated by Rabbi Benny Amzalak drew a crowd of 120, and 50 maamarim were learned.
“The chayos in the room was electric!” said Mr. Avremy Joseph, one of the organizers in Sydney. “I’ve lived here for 12 years, and this was just unbelievable. We’re thinking of turning this into a monthly kollel evening for the local community.”
Other anash communities will have similar events this week as part of the campaign in honor of 25 years since Gimmel Tammuz. For more information or to join the effort, email [email protected].
