As Snowstorms Blanket the US, Chabad Learning Continues

As snowstorms and severe winter weather sweep across large parts of the United States, forcing school closures and disrupting daily routines, Jewish education is continuing uninterrupted—just virtually.
In response to widespread weather-related cancellations, CKids announced a Snow Day Hebrew School program taking place today, Sunday, offering a fully online experience for Hebrew Schools impacted by the storms. The program ensures that students can continue learning, connecting, and engaging with Jewish life even when roads are icy and classrooms are closed.
The virtual program is open to participating Chabad Hebrew Schools nationwide.
Students in Grades K–2 will join from 10:30–11:15 AM (ET) for davening, Aleph Bet learning, and interactive games.
Grades 3–6 will participate from 11:15 AM–12:15 PM (ET), featuring davening, interactive games, and a special Tu B’Shvat craft, led by educator Mushky Yiftach.
The initiative was coordinated by Mrs. Sara Bluming, a shlucha from Potomac, Maryland, who serves on the CKids board, working as part of CKids’ mission to support and strengthen Hebrew schools worldwide.
“We are committed to ensuring that Torah learning continues under all circumstances,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky of Merkos 302. “Even during a snowstorm, Torah learning does not stop.”
CKids is a project of Merkos 302, dedicated to enhancing the Hebrew school experience for Chabad Houses across the globe. The program is led by Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, Director of CKids.
As winter weather continues to affect communities across the country, CKids’ Snow Day Hebrew School reflects a commitment to adaptability, continuity, and keeping Jewish education accessible, no matter the forecast.
