Southern Florida has seen a recent migration of young Chabad families looking to settle down and establish roots. Along with warmer weather and fewer Covid restrictions, the newcomers have found a gold mine of Chinuch.

Cheder Chabad Florida was established for the 5780 school year, focusing on creating a warm and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. “The need and thirst for this approach to Chinuch is evident in the rapid growth of the Moised” says director, Rabbi Aharon Matusof, adding that “when all the families get together it truly feels like a family”.

A recent Yud Ted Kislev event encapsulated the we-are-family energy and left parents and students uplifted and inspired. The community Seudah focused on catering to students and parents alike. The program was planned with every attendee in mind, thereby creating a space for all families to come together and bond in true Chassidic brotherhood fashion.

Hand-made centerpieces created by the students were beautifully displayed on each table, showcasing their talent and dedication to this special day. A choir made up of students and Nigunim led by Chazzon Hurwitz captivated the crowd, following which Rabbi Yossi Paltiel gave a profound talk, highlighting the power of Chinuch Al Tahars Hakodesh. The evening culminated in a fantastic Fire Performance, ensuring that even the entertainment reflected the magnitude and depth of Rosh Hashana L’Chassidus.

One parent noted that attending the Yud Tes Kislev event highlighted the fortune of finding community within Cheder Chabad. “Taking part in this event tonight makes me truly appreciate how we are all part of one community.”

Parents are drawn to Cheder Chabad for the unconditional love and acceptance of both students and their families. In turn, the parent body has stepped up with consistent support, which Rabbi Matusof insists is the key to the success of Cheder Chabad. As Rabbi Zalmen Shimon Itkin the assistant principal says “When you have a team of talented staff members and a parent body that is supportive as well as passionate and excited about a warm and Chassidish Chinuch, it sets the stage for success.”

Whether attending a School Seudah or entering the building on a typical Monday afternoon, the energy you’re met with when walking into Cheder Chabad is purely positive. The optimism is contagious and it brings out the best in both students and staff.

“Wow, it was so so beautiful tonight! Thank you so much! Obviously, a lot of hard work and thought went into every detail, from setup to entertainment. It was all very well done! And a beautiful warm Chassidishe atmosphere!” – Chaya’le Werner

“Thank you for arranging such a beautiful Yud Tes Kislev event! We all enjoyed it so much! My kids said Cheder Chabad feels like a family!” – Rivky Katz

In an age where Moisdos are undergoing a revolution from the inside out, Cheder Chabad is proud to be on the frontline, leading with Chassidishe values and boundless love.
