Antwerp Bochurim Spend Packed Shabbos by the Rebbe

Bochurim from Tomchei Teminim Antwerp in Shiur Beis and Gimmel traveled to New York this past week for a Shabbos by the Rebbe, accompanied by the yeshiva’s hanhala. The action-packed few days included farbrengens, mivtzoim, a visit to the Rebbe’s library, and time at the Ohel.

As every year, the bochurim of Antwerp’s Tomchei Teminim in Shiur Beis and Gimmel merited to spend a special Shabbos by the Rebbe together with the yeshiva’s hanhala.

The trip followed months of special preparation that included learning a large portion of Maseches Bava Kama, in-depth study of the Rebbe’s Torah, and a strong commitment to keeping the seder hayeshiva.

Before setting out, the bochurim gathered for a special farbrengen with the yeshiva’s founder and senior shliach, Rabbi Shabbsai Slavaticki, who spoke about how a bochur should prepare himself to fly to the Rebbe and how one should enter yechidus even today.

Accompanied by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Tavrodovitch, and mashpia Rabbi Yehoshua Rabinowitz, the bochurim flew to New York where they spent Shabbos by the Rebbe.

During the trip, the bochurim spent much time learning at 770 and visited the Rebbe’s room and the Rebbe’s house to daven.

On Thursday night, the bochurim farbrenged at the home of Reb Moshe Rubashkin, and the following day went out on mivtzoim, putting tefillin on dozens of Yidden throughout New York.

Shabbos was spent at the Rebbe’s Ohel.

Friday night, the bochurim farbrenged with Rabbi Zusha Wolf from Eretz Yisroel, who captivated them with stories about the Rebbe, the importance of learning Chassidus and the Rebbe’s Torah, and the tremendous love the Rebbe has for every chossid and especially for temimim. He encouraged the bochurim to strengthen their hiskashrus to the Rebbe and to bring about the hisgalus very soon. Shabbos afternoon the farbrengen continued with the Mashbak, Reb Chaim Boruch Halberstam, who served in the Rebbe’s house for many years.

On Sunday, the bochurim had the opportunity to tour the Rebbe’s library with a fascinating shiur from chief librarian Rabbi Berel Levin on the importance of davening with a minyan and the halachic definition of a minyan. In the afternoon, the Rebbe’s room was opened specially for them, where they davened Mincha with deep feeling, as befits such a holy place.

In the evening, a special farewell seuda was held at the home of Reb Berel Yunik. At the farbrengen, Reb Berel encouraged the bochurim to spread Chassidus in their city of Antwerp, and mentioned his mother, Mrs. Rivka Yunik AH, whose shloshim falls today, and how she had always awaited Moshiach.

He then introduced his brother-in-law, Rabbi Zalman Hertzel, who encouraged the bochurim in learning inyonei Geula u’Moshiach and living with genuine emuna that Moshiach is coming. Reb Moshe Heber also farbrenged with them, sharing how he had the zechus to grow up in the shadow of the Rebbe for many years, and encouraged the bochurim to remain connected to the Rebbe in an everlasting way.

The farbrengen was packed with tremendous energy and simcha, and the bochurim danced, celebrating the zechus of being connected to the Rebbe and the full belief that Moshiach is on his way.

At the conclusion, each bochur received a set of the Tanya Hashalem, a generous gift from friend of the yeshiva Reb Moshe Klein.

On Tuesday, the bochurim returned to yeshiva after a packed journey, ready to recommit to their learning with renewed energy.

The hanhala thanked the talmidim-hashluchim who accompanied the trip, and Reb Moshe Vishetzki, who took responsibility for organizing the entire trip.

They also thanked Yosef Yitzchak Benhagmus, who documented the journey, Bentzi Sudak and Uriel Rabenu, who helped with hosting and transportation in New York, Reb Moshe Rubashkin, who graciously provided accommodations and meals, and the yeshiva’s dear friend Mr. Oded Shapira and his family, whose contribution made possible the yeshiva’s Mivtza Torah, arranged by Rabbi Shlomo Binyamin Kuritz, the Mashgiach of the yeshiva.
