Member of the Knesset and Leader of the National Unity Party, Mr. Benny Gantz, visited the Chabad Campus of Alaska, where he participated in a welcoming event attended by Alaska U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Dahlstrom, and leaders from the Alaskan community.

Last Friday, Mr. Benny Gantz, Member of the Knesset and Leader of the National Unity Party, visited the Chabad Lubavitch Headquarters of Alaska, where he was warmly welcomed by the Rebbe’s Shliach to Alaska, Rabbi Yosef Greenberg, and Shliach Rabbi Levi Glitsenstein.

Mr. Gantz happily put on Tefillin and prayed for the victory of the war in Gaza, for the safety of the soldiers, and for the return of the hostages. He also asked to make a Mi Shebeirach for the wounded soldiers in front of the Aron Hakodesh.

Rabbi Greenberg presented Mr. Gantz with the new book, “Make Peace,” which summarizes the Rebbe’s view that the only way to achieve a lasting peace in Israel is by keeping a hard line and standing strong. Rabbi Greenberg also presented him with the book, “The Rebbe’s Army,” which tells the story of the Rebbe’s Shluchim and their work around the world.

In his welcoming speech, Rabbi Greenberg mentioned the visit of Mr. Gantz at the Rebbe’s Ohel, as well as the visits of President Donald Trump to the Ohel and the visit of Defense Minister, Mr. Israel Katz, to the Ohel, accompanied by Rabbi Greenberg.

Rabbi Greenberg also shared that in the last few years, Chabad of Alaska hosted Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S., Mr. Michael Herzog, as well as Minister of Strategic Affairs, Mr. Ron Dermer. He also mentioned the development of Israel’s “Arrow 3” Missile, which was developed and tested in Kodiak, Alaska, with the participation of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

Mr. Gantz, in his remarks, mentioned very warmly about his visit to the Rebbe’s Ohel and he apologized that at this visit to the U.S., he didn’t have the chance to visit. He praised the outstanding and dedicated work that the Rebbe’s Shluchim are doing around the world for the Jewish people and for keeping the flame of Judaism alive, which has no parallel in Jewish history.

Mr. Gantz spoke very warmly of the personal relationship that he has with the Rebbe’s Shliach in his town, Rabbi Nachum Cohen, in Rosh HaAyin, Israel. Mr. Gantz also thanked the renowned Shliach activist, Rabbi Shlomi Peles, for his help with arranging the visit.

Mr. Gantz concluded his speech that we have to follow the Rebbe’s teachings in order to bring security and lasting peace in Israel.
