One of the few guests who came to spend Tishrei by the Rebbe writes of his experiences and how he was helped by the Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim organization.
Dear Chassid,
My name is Mendy. I’m from one of the Tomchei Tmimim yeshivas in Eretz Yisrael. Last summer, I was one of several bachurim who was sick with corona in the yeshiva capsule. Although the experience was very unpleasant, lying in bed, feeling weak and aching for a while, it was all by Divine providence, of course. As a result, I was able to receive special permission to come to the Rebbe for Tishrei.
The great responsibility that we, the guests this year, feel is clear and tangible, both because of the fact that many Chassidim want to come and we, for some reason, have been zoche to that which they yearn for, and because of the frightening situation in the world, in Eretz Yisrael. We need to arouse divine mercy on Am Yisrael and on Chabad Chassidim.
It is clear to us that our presence here is on behalf of every Jew, particularly Chabad Chassidim. This feeling obligates us to be particular about our attendance at tefillos with the Rebbe, the times for learning, in quantity and quality, and proper Chassidishe behavior.
We can do all this happily thanks to the tremendous efforts of the Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim organization on our behalf. The spacious, clean apartments, the good food with a great menu (obviously, aside from the learning booklets, the gatherings, shiurim, farbrengens, and all the spiritual bounty provides for us by the spiritual department of Eshel) enable us to make the best use of the great zechus we have been given, and to devote ourselves to learning and davening as we should.
I’m sure you’ve heard that many of the familiar aspects of “Tishrei with the Rebbe” have changed this year due to the situation. Seating in 770, farbrengens, etc. and even the number of guests who depend fully on Eshel, have changed dramatically this year.
Until now, many people had Yom Tov meals in the homes of Anash and even had all their needs met in the homes of people in Crown Heights who are known for their hospitality. This year, due to the health situation, many residents are not hosting so that Eshel is taking care of everything for everyone.
Now, we the guests, are asking you to take part in this huge endeavor, this unusual Tishrei 5781. With your donation to Eshel, you are directly enabling us to be here, to learn and daven in the Rebbe’s presence. You are thus appointing us as your shluchim here, in 770.
With your donation to Eshel, you are joining us and meriting to be with the Rebbe even in Tishrei 5781. To donate, click: charidy.com/eshel.
With blessings for a gemar chasima tova and with hopes that even before Succos we will meet together in the third Beis Ha’Mikdash.
Mendy,
770-Beis Chayenu
