Tonight is the yahrzeit of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, an opportunity for chassidim to give the Rebbe something that meant a lot to him personally.
Tonight is Chof Av, yahrzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, father of the Rebbe.
Although the Rebbe did not usually make personal requests, when it came to Chof Av, it was different. The Rebbe asked to learn and give tzedaka in memory of his illustrious father, especially on the yahrzeit.
The Rebbe didn’t only request, he also gave a unique bracha. At a Chof Av farbrengen, the Rebbe said that anyone who donates to the magbis in memory of his father will “surely be paid back by Hashem…up to 500 times as much!”
Chabad of Kazakhstan, which spreads Yiddishkeit in the very location where Harav Levi Yitzchok was moser nefesh, is currently holding their annual magbis – campaign. Every donation will help fund their activities, continuing the work of spreading Yiddishkeit, and hosting visitors to the holy tziyun.
