A Heartfelt Letter from the Dukes Family

In a moving letter to the global Chabad family, Mrs. Sarah Dukes thanks all the donors who stepped forward to bring Rabbi Yudi Dukes home to his family.

I apologize that I’ve been a little MIA. While I have been needing to spend all my time and energy on a recent family crisis, an entire team of dedicated friends have been working NON STOP to make sure the #bringyudihome campaign was a success.

It is unbelievable how much work and energy has gone into organizing and executing such a project and how much time has been devoted to help make sure my family is taken care of financially for this coming year. They organized the entire campaign from beginning to the end, working tirelessly on writing articles, putting together photos and videos, and rallying the troops. I don’t think there are enough words for me to fully express how grateful I am for these very special friends – our heroes.

And to our friends Eda and David Schottenstein and Adina and Motti Korf, I received a message this morning that donations will be matched by these two selfless couples!!! I was (and still am, actually!) in complete shock. It’s difficult for me to even process such generosity, and Yudi and I are in awe and beyond moved by this enormous act of kindness. We are filled with complete gratitude and humility.

And all of you who contributed to our family fund, www.bringyudihome.com – from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Your donation will help get Yudi stronger and healthier. It will help us focus on the tremendous healing that needs to take place. It will help us rebuild our family.

Thank you for being there for us. Thank you for believing in us. And thank you for loving us as if we are part of your family- because that’s exactly what we are. We are all connected and part of the same source. We are one.

Yudi and I are so overwhelmed by the outpour of love and support and get very emotional just by thinking about it. We cannot thank you enough. All of you.

May your generosity and baseless love bring inner joy, clarity, and revealed blessings into your lives!

Regarding Yudi’s infection, the additional cultures have come back negative so far which is a great sign! The doctors don’t know for certain yet, but as of now, the infection does not seem to have spread to Yudi’s heart, thank G-d! Yudi and I are choosing to believe they got the infection under control and it is currently being treated effectively. I can’t wait for Yudi to come home. We need him here. I need him here, so, so badly.

May G-d bless Chaim Schneur Zalman Yehuda ben Hinda Yocheved with a miraculous speedy and complete recovery so he can come home faster than anyone would have ever expected! L’chaim! To life, to gratitude, to our entire global family!
