As a Hachana and preparation for the two auspicious days of “Chof Ches Sivan” – the day the Rebbe and Rebbetzin miraculously escaped from the Nazis during the Holocaust, and “Gimmel Tammuz” which marks 30 years of us yearning and intense longing for our Rebbe – our students of 8th Grade Lubavitcher Yeshiva on the brink of their graduation – grabbed and utilized the opportunity to connect to the Rebbe by joining an end of the year Mivtza that required them to learn and study all about the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim, accomplishments and activities in the decade of the Mem’s (1980’s).

The Bochurim became familiar and knowledgeable in the details of every task, campaign, and project that the Rebbe launched to his Chasidim and to the world at large. Also, seeing and looking back how things developed over time.

Campaigns & activities that happened and began in the Mem’s (1980’s) include things such as: “Aseres Hadibros” “Moment of silence” – “Shnas Hakhel” – “Sunday Dollars” “Hey Teves” “Lag B’omer parade’s worldwide” “The birthday campaign” “Kosher dolls” “Tzivos Hashem” “Am Yisroel have no fear” “Niggun Sheyibone” “Birchas Hachama” and more.

The boys learned in depth the background of each one of these campaigns and programs of the Rebbe. They got tested on all the important information.

Taking time to learn about the Rebbe and his year-by-year functions and seeing the Rebbe’s vision and massive production was a great way to connect to the Rebbe as a preparation for Gimmel Tammuz.

We thank Hillel Greenberg for working so hard throughout the year to put together all these beautiful Mivtzas and events and for always being there for our boys as a good leader and inspiration.

The 8th graders were rewarded with an elaborate event. They enjoyed unlimited pizza with a juice bar, a grand salad bar, desserts, and more. They also had a great time with different games and activities that were prepared for them.

May we merit to see the Rebbe speedily in our days with the coming of Moshiach NOW!
