Following the warning issued today by the Gedalya Society and Aguch regarding the risk of COVID in 770, the gaboyim of the main shul hung a sign requiring all those entering to wear a mask.

Boxes of masks were seen at the entrance to 770 on Friday afternoon, to be distributed to all those who arrived that evening without one.

In a recording sent out a short while before Shabbos, Harav Yosef Braun of the Crown Heights Beis Din addressed the situation in 770, and said that closing the shul is an option on the table if the need arises chas v’shalom.

Harav Braun said that the Beis Din had discussions with the doctors and among the rabbonim themselves.

“The Rabbonim fully support the statement of the doctors regarding being careful in 770,” he said.
