A record 4,000 from 52 Chabad yeshivos gathered in 770 on Wednesday, Yud Shevat for ‘An Hour with the Rebbe’ program where they joined together to watch a video collection of sichos and niggunim.
A record 4,000 from 52 Chabad yeshivos joined the ‘Hour with the Rebbe’ program on Wednesday, Yud Shvat in 770.
The event, which has been taking place annually for the last ten years, took place from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at 770 Eastern Parkway, with a special presentation of a video of the Rebbe being played.
An hour with the Rebbe began in 5773 with several hundred bochurim from six different Yeshivos. As Lubavitch around the world grew, so did the crowd at 770 grow from year to year. This year, a Hakhel year, close to 4,000 Bochurim are expected from 52 Yeshivos, a historical record.
To accommodate the crowd, the Eastern Parkway veiber shul was also reserved for bochurim, and the windows were removed to allow them to participate.
“This is an amazing program in which the bochurim get to feel a sliver of what we had when we saw the Rebbe in 770,” one member of anash shared. “I was there and I had tears in my eyes to see bochurim that never saw the Rebbe.”
‘An Hour with the Rebbe’ was organized this year by a dedicated team of bochurim including Mendy Hirsh, Mendel Malek, Mendel Braun, Mendel Mintz, Mendel Greisman, Yossi Rosenblum, Menachem Farkash, Moishy Golomb, Shmuly Cunin, Meir Avtzon and Sholom Trauig.
