Addressing 1,000 Chicago area Jews who gathered to daven for Eretz Yisroel, shliach Rabbi Dovid Flinkenstein said “Terror wishes to instill fear. We will not allow terror to gain control over our minds and hearts.”
Close to 1,000 Chicago area Jews from all walks of life came together on Monday evening for Tefillah and inspiration.
Local Rabbonim including Rabbi Yonah Reiss, Av Bes Din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, led Tehillim. Rabbi Mendel Lieberman from Ashkelon gave a first-hand report via Zoom.
Rabbi Yosef Moscowitz, executive director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois, shared opening remarks. Rabbi Menachem Slaviticki, director of Chabad Israeli Center who serves the Chicago Israeli community, shared words of inspiration in Hebrew.
Rabbi Dovid Flinkenstein director of Chabad of Wilmette, and father of a soldier in the IDF, shared uplifting words of inspiration and encouragement.
Many took upon themselves mitzvahs and volunteers signed people up for letters in the Sifrei Torah haklolim.
The event was organized by Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois and area Chabad Centers.
