Rockland Congressman Proclaims Education Day on the House Floor

After issuing no less than six proclamations for Education Day on 11 Nissan, NY Congressman Mike Lawler got up in the US House of Representatives to proclaim the Rebbe’s birthday for all to hear.

NY Congressman Mike Lawler issued a proclamation for six Chabad Houses to mark the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s birthday, 11 Nissan, celebrated as Education and Sharing Day.

Since the 1980s, every U.S. president has marked the occasion annually, and many public officials and municipalities have followed suit in honoring the life and legacy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

“Take a moment to reflect on what you can do for Education in general and Jewish Education in particular,” Chabad of Nyack posted on social media in response to Lawler’s proclamation. “Thank you, Congressman Mike Lawler, for your leadership.”

The proclamations were awarded to three Rockland Chabad centers and three Westchester Chabad centers:
Chabad of Rockland – Rabbi Avremel Kotlarsky
Chabad of Suffern – Rabbi Shmuel Gancz
Chabad of the Nyacks – Rabbi Chaim Zvi Ehrenreich
Chabad of Bedford – Rabbi Arik Wolf
Chabad of Yorktown – Rabbi Yehuda Leib Heber
Chabad of Briarcliff and Ossining – Rabbi Dovid Labkowski

This morning, the congressman spoke on the house floor about the annual Education and Sharing Day this morning as well.
