The Rebbe says: “The order of joy and dancing, where during the dance one lifts his foot from the ground, signifies being elevated from earthly and material matters. In return, measure for measure, he is raised from above, from earthliness to spirituality, and to true spirituality.” (2 Kislev, 1953)

The origin of this tune is unknown. It is included in the Sefer HaNiggunim, listed as number 157.
