Yud Tes Kislev Sweeps through Morristown

Boys and girls, young and old, of the Morristown anash community celebrated a festive Yud Tes Kislev. Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel of Port Washington inspired Nshei, followed by a farbrengen with Anash. The Cheder held exciting activities thoughout the day and the Bochurim farbrengened at the Ohel.

The Morristown Jewish community came together to celebrate Yud Tes Kislev, the “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus,” with a series of uplifting events tailored for all ages. As one community member remarked, “It felt like a Two Day Yom Tov”!

On Thursday evening, 80 women gathered for a beautiful seuda and inspiring words by guest speaker Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel of Port Washington, NY. The energy in the room was electric, with joy and inspiration palpable as the women shared in the spirit of the day.

The evening continued with a men’s farbrengen that went late into the night, with stirring niggunim, dancing and hachlatas tovos.

On Friday morning, students throughout Cheder Lubavitch Morristown participated in Yud Tes Kislev programs, featuring a festive brunch and presentations on various Chassidus topics from different classes, in such a fun, interactive way. They returned from school contagious with the joy and energy of Yud Tes Kislev.

Alongside these celebrations, bochrim kicked off Yud Tes Kislev at the Ohel with celebrations continued over Shabbos, with the bochrim in Tomchei and Tiferes Bochurim gathering for non-stop farbrengens from Shabbos night until maariv.

“It was truly beautiful to see how everyone tapped into the energy of Yud Tes Kislev in our 21st-century shtetl,” said organizers. “The sense of community and joy was palpable, and we’re grateful to have shared in this special experience together.”

The events were organized by Nshei, Congregation Levi Yitzchak, Cheder Lubavitch Morristown, and The Rabbinical College of America. A “yasher koach” to all the community leaders, who worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone had an uplifting and inspiring Yud Tes Kislev experience.
