Over 100 high school girls living in Crown Heights received a special “Piece of Home” delivery to their dorms to power through midterms from the Young Shluchim department of the Shluchim Office.
The unique initiative for high school girls of Shluchim gives Shluchim living all around the world the ability to send care packages to their daughters throughout the year, providing reassurance and support in the most meaningful way. This includes care packages, fresh food and even hot chicken soup delivered when girls are feeling under the weather.
“We wanted to do something special for the Young Shluchos in Crown Heights during the busy midterm season,” said program coordinator Rochel Goldman. “For these girls, it’s so much more than a care package. It’s a hug and love they get to feel from home, even when they’re miles away.”
The midterm Piece of Home package included freshly baked goods and a special gift. Piece of Home gives packages like this year-round, including an option for a get-well gift with chicken soup and assorted goods parents can send their daughter anytime they’re not feeling well or need a pick me up.
