Short update:

On the deal:
Hamas has not yet responded to the deal, reportedly they are torn about it. The Qatar-sponsored elements in Hamas are leaning towards a yes, while the Iranian elements want to refuse it. They may come back with conditions.

In Israel, a majority supports the deal, but many are wary.

Those in support like it because it brings all hostages home, has Hamas surrender weapons, and puts a non-terrorist government in control of Gaza.

Those against are wary of trusting any outside security promises, since that has never worked in the past. Not in Lebanon or Syria with the UN Peacekeepers. And not in Gaza when Israel evacuated in 2005, and U.S. President Bush promised that America would ensure no terrorists take over the strip, or use it to attack Israel.

Qatar:

After having Prime Minister Netanyahu apologize to Qatar for the attack, U.S. President Trump signed an executive order upgrading America’s security commitment to Qatar. The document pledges:

“The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.

In the event of such an attack, the United States shall take all lawful and appropriate measures — including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military — to defend the interests of the United States and of the State of Qatar and to restore peace and stability.”

Some argue that this was worthwhile, since it was needed in order for Qatar to pressure Hamas to accept the deal. Others wonder about the longterm threat it opens.

At the end of the day, Qatar only reevaluated hosting Hamas terrorists once the war came to their doorsteps with Israel’s airstrike.

Inside Gaza:
Operations in Gaza City are full swing, explosions are non-stop. The Netzarim Corridor is now under full IDF operational control, Gazans can only leave Gaza City, but not return.
There are unverified rumors of a Gazan anti-Hamas militia which are searching evacuees from Gaza City, and picking out Hamas terrorists. Meanwhile, the IDF continues targeted eliminations of terrorists who fled to central Gaza.

The flotilla:
The 40 vessels and 400+ participants in the Gaza-bound flotilla (which the IDF proved was sponsored by Hamas) arrived at the maritime blockade on Yom Kippur.
The IDF Navy peacefully arrested all participants in a 12-hour overnight operation.
Police have been searching the ships, and so far found no actual humanitarian aid.
