Dr. Yoel Leviev, the grandson of renowned philanthropist Mr. Lev Leviev, president of the Or Avner Chabad Foundation, passed away after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.
Dr. Yoel Leviev, the son of Shalom Leviev and the grandson of Mr. Lev Leviev, the president of the World Bukharian Jewish Congress and president of the “Or Avner Chabad” Foundation, passed away on Tuesday.
He was 24 years old.
Yoel had recently completed his medical studies and received his doctorate. He was riding an electric bicycle near Yehud in Eretz Yisroel on Monday night when he was struck by a vehicle.
MDA emergency services transported him to Tel HaShomer Hospital while performing resuscitation efforts, but sadly he passed away.
His funeral took place today at on Har HaMenuchos in Yerushalayim.
