The Baba Sali, was born in Tafillalt, Morocco, to the illustrious Abuchatzera family. From a young age he was renowned as a talmid chacham, Mekubal and miracle worker. He had an especially close relationship with the Rebbe and visited the Yeshiva in Bronoy on several occasions.
In 1964 he moved to the Eretz Yisrael, eventually settling in the southern development town he made famous, Netivot. He passed away in 1984 on the 4th of Shevat.
Rabbi Machluf Krispin is married to the granddaughter of the Baba Sali. At his first yechidus with the Rebbe, he related a fascinating story of his grandfather.
