Why is this “Peace” Agreement Different?

The massacre of October 7th is the result of two so-called peace agreements.
The first was the “peace” agreement with Egypt, signed by Begin, which led to the destruction of Yamit and its surrounding communities and the withdrawal from all of Sinai. All the weapons that were used to slaughter us on October 7th came through the cooperation and encouragement of Egypt, thanks to that agreement.
The second agreement is, of course, the “peace” agreement signed by Rabin and Peres with the invented “Palestinian” people—namely, with the Islamo-Nazi human savages led by Arafat and the PLO. The Oslo Accords and their continuation, including Sharon’s disengagement and the destruction of Neve Dekalim and its communities, directly contributed to the tragedy of October 7th. Granting autonomy to this Islamo-Nazi entity on the border of Nahal Oz set the stage for this catastrophic outcome.
Both of these agreements were arrogantly celebrated by the wise and influential, who mocked the few who resisted the illusions of the “magnitude of the moment” and the “footsteps of peace.” Those who insisted on the ancient vision of “tikkun olam” – the eternal vision of the people of Israel – were ridiculed for failing to embrace temporary normalcy and a place among the nations.
In both agreements, American presidents benefited, while Israeli leaders traded temporary flattery from the nations for the bewilderment and suffering of the Israeli people.
And this is exactly what is happening now. There is nothing new under the sun.
At Begin’s Camp David, Rabin’s Oslo, and Sharon’s disengagement, Israel lost the most important thing for a nation’s existence: its honor. What nation gives up its homeland for quiet? What nation, repeatedly attacked, sacrifices its sons to survive and then hands over the fruits of its victory to its aggressors?
The loss of life always begins with the loss of honor.
Now we are facing another round of this, far worse than its predecessors, because there is no room for illusions. This comes as the culmination of the most horrific atrocity committed against us by the Islamo-Nazis.
I understand that there is no choice because we are stuck with leadership—both right and left—that is incapable of presenting this exhausted nation with any vision beyond survival and temporary quiet. I understand that after two years of a war of attrition in Gaza—whose true purpose was not a resounding victory but, rather, the creation of the current agreement—there is no point in continuing this bloody farce.
But with a hand on the heart, if the first two agreements, which still allowed for self-deception, ultimately led to October 7th, where do you think this essential defeat will lead?
We have no choice but to provide this wonderful nation of heroes—a nation more connected than ever to its identity and mission—with completely different leadership. Not Begin’s, not Rabin’s, not Sharon’s, and not Netanyahu’s.
We need leadership with vision: leadership that does not settle for quiet, leadership that is unafraid to pursue the old dream of our forefathers, and leadership that will guide the State of Israel from its current difficult position to its rightful status as a strong Israeli-Jewish regional power that no one dares to challenge.

This is where we draw a red line. This is critical for our survival, and is non negotiable.
There is a slight difference (although it’s still wrong): All other agreements resulted in Israel losing territory permanently, of sorts. Not this one. They currently don’t have settlers or villages in Gaza to hand over to “Palestinians”. Israel will still have veto power for security. October 7 taught Israel not to believe in “containment”. Facts. No more Nassralla, no more Sinwar, no more Bashar Al-Assad. Many Irianian and Houthi officials are dead. This isn’t a unilateral withdrawal at all. Yes, it is a bad mistake, as the Rebbe taught that any so-called “Civilian Palestinian Autonomy” will be a new way to bring in terrorism. Yes, it is a terrible idea.
On the flip side, even if this deal goes through, just a few rockets or Hamas rebuilding will be enough for Israel to do what they need to do.
(Also, nobody knows yet if Hamas is bluffing.)
“just a few rockets will be enough for Israel to do what they need to do”. We heard these exact words by the so called “disengagement” of gush katif in 2005. Thousands of rockets later we were still saying: just a few more rockets”.
It seems like they are trying to be “Different”, but in actuality, probably not.

Israel took control of most of the Gaza strip. It has been conquered and is now Israeli territory. To hand this away to anyone (especially entities that will definitely not keep it under control) is a punch in the face of all those who fought for it, the families of those who died for it, and כפוי טובה to G-d Who put it back in Jewish hands.
My response to some of what you wrote:

Response: There is also another difference that makes it way worse and more dangerous. Previously, during the six day war at least, at the time of the war Israel did what it needed for security and conquered the land that posed a threat. Later the talk was about loosing territory as you write, and the Rebbe and others warned of the danger. In this case, from the beginning Netanyahu has set a red line and refused to re-conquer Gaza and repeatedly said that Gaza must remain Judenrein despite all the terror that came from there, thus declaring victory to the Terrorists from day one and ensuring that they do not abandon their hope to conquer the entire EY R”L which is their motivation for terror in the first place.

Response: Here are more facts: At the time of Oslo there was no Sinwar, Iran was way further to nuclear weapons and the capabilities of sending missiles to E”Y then they are now, when they just need to wait a few more years for the US administration to change. (To the best of my knowledge, Nasrallah’s terror group is now way more capable of rebuilding then they were at the time of the Oslo agreements – I may be wrong on this last point). The point is this. When the terror against E”Y was at 20 degrees for example, and they thought that they will reduce it by concessions and giving up land, the Rebbe warned that this will lead to increase in terror. They then let the terror grow to 100 degrees, 200 degrees, suicide bombings, 500 degrees, rockets, and they do nothing. 1,000 degrees, 2,000 degrees, rockets coming in from Iran, an invasion and slaughter of 1,200 kedoshim. Okay now we have to act, and they cut it down to 1,000 degrees and Netanyahu says, look, we got rid of Nasrallah, we got rid of Sinwar blah blah blah. They refused to cut out the terror in its source which as the Rebbe warned is only possible when you cut down any hope of theirs of taking control in any part in E”Y. So at 1,000 degrees Netanyahu can boast how much he accomplished, but the danger is still 50 times the danger of Oslo.
Simply said, once everything settles and the US and Trump is out of office etc., do you think it will take them 30-35 years to restore to the level of terror infrastructure that they were a few years ago? So are we now in a more safe or more dangerous place than post Oslo?

Response: We have been going through these fantasies for the last thirty years, “Give peace a chance”, “One more terrorist attack and…” “One more rocket” Nice dreams. 1,200 Kedoshim and thousands of rockets, hundreds of missiles were not enough for Israel to do what they need to do, but a few more rockets will do the trick? And by the way, the problem is not if this deal goes through or not, anyone with common sense who read what the Rebbe said and and knows the Israeli mentality knew that this would be the resolution based on Netanyahu’s repeated statements.
Over the last 2 years I have watched and been horrified how so much of the younger generation in Lubavitch are so not educated in the Rebbe’s view on Shleimus Haaretz.
For years, the Rebbe cried his heart out while putting his own Mosdos on the line (loosing supporters for mixing in to politics) warning of the dangers of the illusion of peace, dragging out wars instead of quick and decisive victory, and all the other ineffective approaches we have seen again in the last two years.
Back during Gush Katif, Lubavitch went out to the street and were extreamly active in the protests etc. since Anash were then very aware and very under the influence of the Rebbe’s warnings and cries. I believe that although we were not successful in preventing the Hitnatkut and the resulting massacre on Simchas Torah 5784, I still believe that it has saved many thousands of lives, since the protests and push-back prevented the government from doing the same in Yehuda and Shomron which would have led to many thousands of additional deaths.
I sit and wounder if Moshiach does not come fast and R”l we end up experiencing the results of the refusal of the current government to act in line of Shleimuys Ha’aratz, if we could have prevented it, if Lubavitch protested the way they did by Gush Katif.
Dear Moshe Feiglin, I have been following your activities in recent months and I am so happy to find at least one person in Israeli politics who is in line with common sense and with the Rebbe’s views and warnings. I am happy to see you posting in Chabad circles. Don’t take for granted Lubavitch support, unfortunately many in Lubavitch are not educated in the Rebbe’s view. I suggest you reach out to Rabbanim and askanim who are, and together come up with a plan to get the message out to the masses.
To Well…: not in every article can he address every point. Look him up, he addresses these points at length. Also read the sefer קראתי ואין עונה that gathers the Rebbe’s sichos on the topic, you will see that the criticism in this article pales in comparison to the criticism the Rebbe gave when Israel heads of state acted in the manner the current isreali government is acting thus endangering the lives of millions of Yidden. In that Sefer you will also find the Rebbe’s advice how to deal with pressure from America.
Also, when I read the Rebbe’s sichos on the subject, I see a pattern that played out again in front of our eyes that Israel, being afraid of their shadow refuses to act strongly when they have US support until eventually the US also turns against them which is exactly what happened here again. So the answer to your question how Netanyahu should have dealt with Trump? simple, conquer Gaza the first time Trump gave them a deadline. (remember: “The gates of h… will open if all hostages are not back by…).
The other option is to remove all the Palestinians. What is the Rebbe’s opinion on that? Should Israel not care about international law? Gaza, before the disengagement, also had terrorism. Just having it resettled won’t do the trick, unless the “Palestinians” are removed. This is what some people in Israel’s government want, but it was never Israel’s war goals, for whatever reason. So the question is, what would the Rebbe hold to be the solution to the problem?

We have to realize that the only “completely different leadership” is Moshiach Tzidkeinu. Goodbye to Greco-Roman democracy, hello to Torah Kingship.
