A sukkah was put up for the first time on East Executive Drive, which connects the White House and the Treasury Department.
It was made available to those who work on the White House complex, as well as those visiting for the World Bank International Monetary Fund meetings which took place last week. Anyone with security clearance was allowed to visit and utilize the Sukkah during chol hamoed.
An event was hosted in the sukkah before it was taken down on Erev Shabbos. The sukkah was sponsored by American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad) in Washington, D.C., under the direction of shliach Rabbi Levi Shemtov.
