When New York Stops, the Ohel Bus Keeps Going
As snow blanketed New York on Sunday, schools closed, school buses were taken off the roads, and many stores and businesses shut for the day, Ohel Bus continued running on its regular daily schedule, through snow, sleet, and freezing conditions.
As snow blanketed New York on Sunday, schools closed, school buses were taken off the roads, and many stores and businesses shut for the day. While much of the city slowed and routines were disrupted, access to the Ohel remained fully available.
Ohel Bus continued running on its regular daily schedule, through snow, sleet, and freezing conditions. Travel to the Ohel continued without interruption.
For Chassidim traveling to be by the Rebbe for Yud Shvat, winter weather can create logistical challenges. This year, with reliable and safe transportation, coming to the Ohel was still possible at any hour, day, or night.
The days before and during Yud-Yud Alef Shvat are among the busier days at the Ohel.
To meet the increased demand, there is a large-scale increase in bus trips to the Ohel from Crown Heights, Manhattan, and Boro Park, helping more Yidden connect with the Rebbe at the Ohel.
Thanks to the Ohel Bus, you can get to the Ohel at all times of day and night over Yud Shvat.
Are you a late-night person?
Do you prefer early mornings?
Is mid-afternoon the time slot that works best for you?
You choose the hour, and there will be a bus available to take you to and from the Ohel.
On an ordinary month, 154 bus trips bring over 4,000 Yidden to the Rebbe. For the month of Shvat, a massive increase of 312 scheduled bus trips, bringing over 10,000 Yidden to the Rebbe.
Thanks to the generosity of kind donors, daily bus sponsors, and supporters of the Bus to the Ohel, the round-trip transportation continues to be subsidized for the benefit of having reliable, accessible, and affordable transportation to and from the Ohel.
The additional expenses for Yud Shvat and the whole month (beyond regular operations) is $28,000.
Here is where you enter the picture.
Can you include the “Bus to the Ohel” in your Yud Shvat Tzedokos to the Rebbe’s causes?
A gift of any amount will bring more Yidden to the Ohel.
$36 will provide a subsidy for ten.
$180 will provide a subsidy for fifty.
Should you be in a position to do more, you will have the Zchus of assisting more Yidden in coming and representing you at the Ohel.
