As unrest and uncertainty grip Iran once again, a short film from JEM looks back at a daring operation to save Iranian Jews after the Iranian Revolution.
In the aftermath of Ayatollah Khomeini’s rise to power, Iran’s Jewish community faced growing danger, uncertainty, and persecution.
This video tells the true story of how approximately 2,000 Jewish children were evacuated from Iran in the years following the fall of the Shah.
With the guidance and support of the Rebbe, a small group of young rabbis worked to secure visas, arrange transportation, and create the infrastructure needed to absorb the children in the United States. Against all odds, thousands of Iranian Jewish children were able to leave Iran and begin new lives in safety.
This is a true story of dedication, responsibility, and leadership during a moment of crisis.
