Watch: Shira Choir Sings Heartfelt ‘Pilpul Nigun’

The ‘Pilpul Nigun’ is a soul-stirring Chabad classic based on the traditional Jewish style of question and answer as it climbs and ascends, dismantles and builds, challenges and responds, like a pilpul in Gemara. Watch it sung by the Shira Choir.

Experience the beauty of “Niggun HaPilpul”, a soul-stirring Chabad classic. This moving melody is uniquely based on the traditional Jewish style of questions and answers (קשיא and תירוץ).

“The niggun is built in a question-answer format. What the first refrain demands and questions, the following refrain answers, justifies, and settles. The following refrains climb and ascend, dismantle and build, challenge and respond, in a similar pattern to that of a pilpul in Gemara.” (Adapted from Sefer Haniggunim)

Performed by the acclaimed Shira Choir, conducted by Yoely Horowitz, alongside talented soloist Shloma Zalmen Horowitz with the music artfully arranged by Mendy Hershkowitz. Recorded live at a Hachnosas Sefer Torah celebration, this video captures the spirit and passion of this beloved nigun.
