Before returning to their makom hashlichus in the United Arab Emirates, the shluchim gathered along with friends and supporters for a Tzeischem L’Shalom gathering. The event took on special meaning following the tragic murder of Rabbi Tzvi Kogan HYD in Au Dhabi.
Joining to bid farewell to the shluchim, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky shared his own experiences with tragedy. He recalled how, following the horrific massacre in 5716, the Rebbe sent him to rebuild and uplift the Kfar Chabad community.
Rabbi Krinsky then handed out two special coins from the Rebbe to each of the UAE shluchim: a coin from Lag BaOmer 5751 minted by the Rebbe, along with a half-dollar from the Chanukah distribution of that same year. He noted that he had found these coins bhashgacha protis in his archives right before joining the Tzeischem L’Shalom gathering.
Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, head shliach of California, then shared a story and instructed the shluchim to “forward march,” adding that “afterward, only stronger and better.” The event was hosted at the home of Rabbi Sholom and Feige Duchman, parents of the pioneering shluchim to the UAE, Rabbis Levi and Mendel Duchman.
