US President Donald Trump announces that Israel and Hamas have signed off on the first phase of his plan to end the Gaza war, with all hostages to be released soon.

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” Trump posts on Truth Social.

“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” he continues.

“All Parties will be treated fairly!” He adds.

“This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen,” Trump continues.

“BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!” he adds.

Shortly after Trump’s announcement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu releases a statement.

“A great day for Israel. Tomorrow, I will convene the government to approve the agreement and bring all our dear hostages home,” Netanyahu says.

“I thank the heroic IDF soldiers and all the security forces, whose courage and sacrifice have brought us to this day,” he continues.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to President Trump and his team for their commitment to this sacred mission of freeing our hostages,” he adds.

“With G-d’s help, together we will continue to achieve all our goals and expand peace with our neighbors,” he concludes.

The Rebbe spoke in 1979 with great pain about a hostage exchange where one Jewish captive was traded for 76 terrorists.

The Rebbe cited the principle from the Gemara: “Captives should not be redeemed for more than their worth, for the sake of tikkun olam.”

The Rebbe warned that if terrorists see that through kidnapping they can free large numbers of terrorists, this will provoke them to kidnap more hostages. Therefore there is no other solution but to stand on principle and show them that it doesn’t pay. The government had held to this firm policy for many years, despite the painful price of Jewish victims.

The Rebbe expressed shock that they suddenly abandoned this policy. Among the 76 released terrorists, nearly half had been imprisoned for serious security offenses involving terror that led to the loss of Jewish lives.

“The terrorists are free and in such a place where, God forbid, there will be no apparent reason why they should not return again to terror,” the Rebbe warned.

“The government knows that this is spitting in the face of the public – and they deceive themselves that these are blessed rains,” the Rebbe concluded.

  1. Whilst at a farbrengen in the late 5740’s, Rabbi Mannis Freidman was bemoaning the fact that the then-PM Yitzchak Shamir was not listening to the Rebbe regarding the peace conference to be held in Madrid. Someone responded “the PM is not a Chossid of the Rebbe, nor a frum Yid; we are Chassidim of the Rebbe, are we listening to the Rebbe, are we doing what the Rebbe wants?”

We’ve have just come from Rosh Hashanah where in Musaf we declared that Hashem decides the fate of each country, איזה לחרב ואיזה לשלום. Hashem has His plan and until Moshiach comes nothing will change as nothing has changed until now. How we can change things is by serving Hashem with Simcha and by treating our fellow Yidden with kindness.

May we all dance together with Moshiach Tzidkeinu — who will truly bring peace to the world and enable us to serve Hashem with Emes, even before Shabbos Chol HaMoed Sukkos.

    1. while there’s certain merit to your point, the Rebbe consistently called out the governments in EY about their policies and made public mecha’os about them constantly, not saying that “Hashem is in charge”. especially when it comes to Yidden, we have bechira chofshis and therefore their decisions carry a lot of wait. this is not something to fold our hands and say Hashem is in charge, this is something we have to do our best to make sure that they make the right decisions now and in the future

      1. We need to do our part, and it doesn’t include slamming Israel for every decision it makes. It’s not our job to tell the world that “Netanyahu has to resign” or other stuff like that.

        1. i heard that someone once aksed the rebbe how come he spends so much time speaking about shleimus haaeretz to the chasidim who have no control in the government, and that the rebbe said (somthing along the lines of that) when a yid has shleimus haaretz in his personal eretz yisroel (his neshamah and its 10 kochos) it affects the shleimus haaaretz kipshuto.

if someone knows the words the rebbe actually used and the source of the story i woud love to hear it.

      2. As previously mentioned, this Geula will be achieved by serving Hashem with true Simcha and by treating our fellow Yidden with kindness and unity. We know from Chazal that “one small action can tip the scales”. That means each of us holds the power to be the one whose action finally brings Moshiach.

The Rebbe — like many great Tzaddikim before him — put in tremendous effort to bring about the Geulah. And yet, despite all his actions, the geuloh has not yet materialized. This isn’t a sign of failure — it shows how deeply spiritual and fundamental this process is. For hundreds of years, Tzaddikim have tried to bring the Geulah through Torah, Tefillah, and acts of self-sacrifice. Each effort brought the world closer, but the final breakthrough has not yet happened.

This aligns with the Rebbe’s words and actions: not just pushing political leaders to make righteous choices, but encouraging every Yid to take personal responsibility — through Mitzvos, through joy, through Ahavas Yisroel — to transform the world from within.

Even if the position of the Prime Minister of Israel was a Chossid, the challenges would remain. Why? Because the obstacles aren’t only political or social — they are deeply spiritual. The forces that oppose the coming of Moshiach are strong, because the coming of Moshiach is the final rectification of all history — and they are fighting their end.

We see a hint of this in Yaakov Avinu’s dream of the ladder: each Malach representing a different golus— Bovel, Persia, Greece — ascended and then fell. But the Malach of Edom (our current and longest golus) ascended and did not fall. Yaakov feared it meant that this golus would never end. Hashem reassured him: “I Myself will bring them down.”

So yes — the process is beyond us in many ways. But the Rebbe has given us the key to unlock the Geuloh: one more Mitzvah, one more act of kindness, one more moment of simcha in Avodas Hashem.

May that final act come quickly, and may we dance with Moshiach before this very Shabbos, in the Beis HaMikdash Hashlishi, with true joy and eternal peace.

        1. So what your saying,
          Has meaning,
          And yet
It isnt consistent with the fact tht the rebbe
Did not just “attempt to bring geula” but rather the rebbe transformed the world.

          If once upon a time
          The coming of moshiach,
Was percieved to be some spiritual
          Himelshe zach,
The rebbe teaches that according to rambam, the coming of moshiach is all about shleimus kiyum hatorah umitzvos.

          If we think about it,
          We can begin to realize,
          Tht in,many ways,
          The geula is already here
