On Tuesday, Israel’s Sephardic Chief Rabbi and Rishon LeTzion Rabbi David Yosef welcomed Rabbi Eliahu Ezagui, a respected shochet known internationally as “the traveling shochet,” for a warm meeting in Yerushalayim.

Rabbi Ezagui presented his upcoming sefer, Eish Tamid, and requested the Rishon LeTzion’s blessing and approbation. The sefer gathers Torah insights and halachic discussions, with a focus on the laws of shechita. It was written in fulfillment of the Rebbe’s instruction to print one’s chiddushei Torah.

The visit also served to strengthen ties between the Rebbe’s shluchim worldwide and Sephardic communities, while addressing practical issues in kashrus and halacha.

Rabbi David Yosef, a leading posek in Eretz Yisroel, expressed great appreciation for Rabbi Ezagui’s dedication and his work to uphold the standards of kashrus across the globe.

Rabbi Ezagui also met with the previous Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau, who praised the sefer and wrote a haskama for the forthcoming sefer.
