Torah Club Embarks on a Journey to the Holy Land

Over thirty members of the Yahad Torah Club traveled from Russia and Kazakhstan on an educational and solidarity mission to Eretz Yisroel highlighting the participants’ personal commitment to strengthening their practical connection to Yiddishkeit

In a powerful display of solidarity with Israel during these challenging times, the participants dedicated significant time to volunteer work throughout their stay. They joined various humanitarian initiatives, including packing essential supplies for displaced families, assisting on agricultural farms facing labor shortages, and helping elderly residents with daily tasks.

Participants engaged with renowned speakers, including Rabbi Shaya Gisser, Rabbi Asher Kushnir, Rabbi Dovber Baitman, Rabbi David Shapiro – director of the journey, and Rabbi Abba David, who covered a wide range of compelling and timely Jewish topics crucial to the young participants’ future lives.

Throughout the visit, the young adults studied Jewish history and visited historical sites connected to events mentioned in the Tanach, gaining a deeper understanding of the land. They prayed at holy sites, studied Chassidic teachings, and met with influential Jewish leaders. A special visit was made to Kfar Chabad, where they explored the unique sites of the Chassidic village and participated in an exclusive meeting with Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia.

The journey’s highlight was the participants’ personal commitment to strengthening their practical connection to Yiddishkeit. At the closing event, they received books and Judaica as mementos, generously donated by the 770 Foundation, led by Rabbi Yehuda Davidov.

“This journey represents another building block in these young people’s connection to vibrant and inspiring Jewish life,” shared Rabbi Wilansky. “Coming to Israel provides them with an unforgettable experience that connects them at the deepest levels to Jewish heritage and history.”
