With the breathtaking sunset over the Aegean Sea as the backdrop, a joyous and uplifting Hachnosas Sefer Torah took place at the newly established Chabad House on the beautiful island of Mykonos, Greece. The guest of honor was Rabbi Mendel Hendel, head shliach of Greece.

In a historic first, a joyous and uplifting Hachnosas Sefer Torah took place on the island of Mykonos, Greece, marking a new milestone in the spread of Yiddishkeit to even the furthest corners of the world.

The event was held on Yud-Gimmel Tammuz, Chag HaGeulah, at the newly established Chabad House in Mykonos, under the leadership of the local shluchim, Rabbi Uziel Moshe and Shterna Sarah Friedland. With the breathtaking sunset over the Aegean Sea as the backdrop, the Torah was welcomed into its new home with great joy. Over 120 participants took part in the historic occasion.

The guest of honor was Rabbi Mendel Hendel, head shliach of Greece, who warmly encouraged the participants and spoke of the significance of the moment.

Adding to the atmosphere of simcha was a spirited musical program featuring the renowned Chassidic singer Yoni Shlomo, accompanied by the well-known keyboardist Arale Lipsker.

Special thanks were extended to Rabbi Menachem Ladiov, the Rebbe’s shliach in Paris, who arranged for the Sefer Torah to be brought to the Chabad House in Mykonos, and to R’ Itzik Shmueli, a devoted askan from Rechovot, for his dedicated assistance in organizing the event.
