“Tishrei Explorers” goes beyond simply presenting Tishrei-related videos. The program creates an immersive journey for children, through exploration of artifacts and clues connected to the scenes they watch, application of lessons to daily life, and daily missions to inspire action. A printable calendar helps track the month’s experiences.
The daily episodes stream on JEM.tv —no membership required.
Today’s episode focuses on Vov Tishrei, yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s mother. The videos and ‘action of the day’ allow children to experience the day with the Rebbe, and teach them how to mark the day in an appropriate way.
Launched right before Rosh Hashana, the ‘Tishrei Explorers’ has already received incredible feedback. Parents report that the program has transformed their homes, bringing entire families to experience Tishrei with the Rebbe, regardless of their location.
One Lubavitcher mother shared: “I thought it would be another nice video for my son to watch nightly, but it’s far more. He’s excited to watch each video, uncover clues, find artifacts, and check off the calendar. His enthusiasm has spread through the whole family, prompting us all to connect with the Rebbe and his Torah associated with each special day.”
Children are clearly enthused as well, with many watching each video at the first opportunity, and the daily missions being sent in each afternoon.
“It’s been really great, not just for my children, but for me as well,” Rabbi Mendy Ross, shliach to Duluth, MN, said. “The videos are incredibly well-produced and perfect for children. They get them excited and involved. On the night of Erev Rosh Hashanah, the video was about giving a pan to the Rebbe. The next morning, at 8:00 AM, my children were already asking me when they could write a pan!”
Tishrei Explorers was created by JEM’s “Good Night My Child,” a nightly video of the Rebbe for children. Already a bedtime routine in countless homes, the Tishrei series aims to connect even more children and homes with the Rebbe on a nightly basis.
Tishrei Explorers, and the year-round “Good Night My Child” program, have been made possible through the generous support of Rabbi Mendy and Shana Glick, Rabbi Dovid and Goldie Tiechtel, and the members of the JEM foundation. It was launched in loving memory of Shlucha Mrs. Henya Federman and her daughter Sterna Sara a”h.
