This Purim, Help Support Baalei Teshuvas in Need

At Tiferes Bachurim in Morristown, there are baalei teshuva bochurim who are learning, growing, and building new lives in Yiddishkeit, often without any financial support from home. Their commitment is inspiring, but the reality can be very heavy.

As Purim approaches, many of us are busy preparing our mishloach manos, planning seudos, and thinking about the joy of the day. But the Rebbe teaches that the mitzvah of matanos l’evyonim is about something deeper. It is about rising above our own limits to truly connect with another Yid and restore their sense of belonging and self-worth.

For some, this is not just a beautiful idea. It is real life.

At Tiferes Bachurim in Morristown, there are baalei teshuva bochurim who are learning, growing, and building new lives in Yiddishkeit, often without any financial support from home. Their commitment is inspiring, but the reality can be very heavy.

“I still remember my first Purim in yeshiva,” shares Avi. “Everyone around me was excited and preparing, and I was happy too, but inside I was stressed about how I was going to cover basic things. The help I received that year meant more to me than I can even explain. It made me feel like someone actually saw me.”

The Tiferes Matanos L’evyonim fund exists exactly for this reason. To make sure these precious bochurim and others in similar situations can stand with dignity and simcha on Purim.

Just a few of the types of people the matanos l’evyonim helps include:

  • A shliach with a large family trying to pay the bills
  • A chosson facing mounting expenses
  • A bochur with no financial support from his parents

Behind every category is a real person, a real struggle, and a real opportunity for us to make a difference.

“When you are trying so hard to grow and you are worried about money at the same time, it is very lonely,” says Moshe. “When someone you do not even know steps in to help, it gives you real chizuk. It reminds you that you belong somewhere.”

And that is really the heart of matanos l’evyonim.

Our job this Purim is not just to give, but to make each of them feel part of a larger family, part of our family, part of the family of chassidim and of Yidden everywhere.

If you have ever wondered whether your donation truly matters, the answer is yes, more than you can imagine.

By giving today to the Tiferes Matanos L’evyonim Fund, you can fulfill your mitzvah on Purim in the most meaningful way and help ensure that no baal teshuva bochur in Tiferes Bachurim Morristown feels alone.

This Purim, you have the power to truly change a life.
