The Merit of Hosting the Rebbe’s Guests

If you’ve ever wondered where your donations to Eshel – Hachnosas Orchim go, look no further than the massive tent at the corner of Brooklyn and Eastern Parkway, where guests are treated to lavish meals every morning and evening.

In honor of 13 Tishrei, “Lechatchila Ariber,” Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel, director of the esteemed chesed organization Eshel – Hachnosas Orchim, visited the massive dining hall last night where thousands of the Rebbe’s guests are hosted. Rabbi Hendel expressed his deep gratitude to the dedicated staff of the gashmius department for ensuring the abundance provided for the guests, and warmly thanked the generous donors who make this tremendous hospitality possible.

During his visit, Rabbi Hendel spoke with the bochurim about the great merit of hosting the Rebbe’s guests during this special time. He emphasized the immense significance of being involved in this chesed, which is a true privilege for all who participate. Concluding his remarks, Rabbi Hendel called upon the public to take part in this monumental act of hachnosas orchim, which allows thousands of guests to experience the Rebbe’s court in its full glory during the Yomim Tovim.

Following his inspiring words, the bochurim burst into a heartfelt rendition of the Chassidic niggun, “Lechatchila Ariber,” capturing the unique spirit of the day.

When You Donate to Hachnosas Orchim – What Do the Guests Receive?

If you’ve ever wondered where your donations to Eshel – Hachnosas Orchim go, look no further than the massive tent at the corner of Brooklyn and Eastern Parkway, where guests are treated to lavish meals every morning and evening. For those who can’t visit in person, we’ve included a photo gallery from last night’s dinner in Eshel’s main hall.

[In addition to the main hall, Eshel operates another dining space for about 1,000 girls who came for Tishrei, as well as a dedicated hall for couples and families arriving especially for Sukkos.]

Thousands of guests sat around beautifully set tables, enjoying a varied and delicious meal, featuring five different main courses, alongside five gourmet side dishes, and of course, a warm and comforting soup to complete the feast.

Your generous contributions are what make these high-quality meals possible. As the Rebbe emphasized countless times, the importance of hachnosas orchim cannot be overstated. In the Rebbe’s sicha from Chai Elul 5737, he said:

“It would be appropriate here to express a real Yasher Koach and the tremendous satisfaction caused… by organizing matters of Eshel (food, drink, and lodging) in a pleasant and peaceful manner and with respect.”

When you donate to Hachnosas Orchim, you’re not just giving money—you’re creating an unforgettable experience for the Rebbe’s guests. Thanks to your support, they enjoy meals of the highest standard, alongside a warm, welcoming atmosphere that they will carry in their hearts forever.
