In honor of the weddings of the granddaughters of the Head Shliach to Texas, Raizel and Mottel Greisman, and Shalom and Chaya Burkis, a special wedding Teshura titled “Shiras Shimon” was published.

This unique publication features a collection of songs composed or popularized by the kallahs’ grandfather, Rabbi Shimon Lazaroff, along with melodies he frequently sang. These songs have become an integral part of Chabad culture, resonating at Shabbos tables, weddings, and Chassidishe farbrengens.

As described in the Teshura, “The melodies composed by Rabbi Lazaroff, along with the many dozens he popularized, have become a cornerstone of Chabad culture.” To enrich the experience, each song is accompanied by a brief introduction providing context and insight into its deeper meaning. The Teshura also includes a QR code, allowing readers to access recordings of Rabbi Lazaroff singing the songs himself.

The collection highlights Rabbi Lazaroff’s enduring contributions to chassidisher music. Among his renowned Yiddish compositions are A Yiddishe Reichthum, Achas Sha’alti, Batei Chabad, Velt Barimte Ferd, Zeh Hayom, Tantz, Tantz Kinderlach, Teire Shluchim, Teire Brider, Lev Tahor, Layla Tov, Mir Zainen Di Yunge Shluchim, Mir Zainen Di Shluchim Fun Rebbe’n, Farn Far Ich, Farn Fart Ir, and Shefoch Chamascha. His English compositions include titles such as Watch Out for Friendly Fire, No Free Lunch, Hey Buddies, and Hey You, Big Texan. These melodies capture a blend of heartfelt emotion, uplifting joy, and an infusion of chassidisher values.

The parents of the kallahs explained that the goal of this publication is to offer a farbrengen with Rabbi Lazaroff—on paper. They shared, “We aim to convey, even in part, the joy and energy of our dear father and his songs to the hearts of our readers.”
