An innovative new app called “The Talking Siddur,” helping davening beginners follow along and drivers recite Tehillim with the voice while driving, was recently released by HaMesivta yeshiva.
HaMesivta – a Yeshiva who treats each boy as their own child and caters to each individual need, just came out with a new app for their bochurim.
They are making it available for everyone for free download at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hamesivta-the-talking-siddur/id6569262781
The app, “HaMesivta-The Talking Siddur” has the text, together with the voice of Rabbi Dovid Horowitz reading out loud to make it easier to follow along.
It’s very helpful for beginners who are learning to daven and great for those who want to hear it aloud. It can be used with headphones in shul to help keep up with the minyan. The voice can be sped up or slowed down and the line being read is highlighted in yellow so it’s easier to keep the place. Popular uses of this app include saying the Tehillim together with Rabbi Horowitz (especially while driving or otherwise not able to look inside) and learning how to lein.
Seforim included are Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya, Rambam, Siddur, and even Slichos, which we will be needing soon. The text for the Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya, and Siddur are available for use offline. (The audio is used with an internet connection).
HaMesivta is like a close-knit family, where each student is treasured as the unique individual he is. The teachers spend time with the students, both in school and out of school with Farbrengens, Shabbos meals, Shabbos afternoon gatherings to bond over nosh and board games. The students feel comfortable to share and ask advice from their teachers.
Even years after graduating, the bonds remain strong as students come back for advice on all areas of life including Shiduchim, life choices and marriage. Every Simcha of an alumni is a Simcha for the whole HaMesivta family.
In HaMesivta, each boy learns at his own level and has an individually tailored program. The staff understands that a child is born with a love for learning, and the goal is to nurture and expand on this love. Each boy learns differently and experiences the world in a unique manner.
There is a lot more to a person than academics. HaMesivta focuses on the whole person.
HaMesivta is still accepting enrollments. If you know of any boy who still needs a Yeshiva for this upcoming school year please contact Rabbi Leiblich on +1 (347) 234-8928.
For the Zechus to be part of this unique chinuch opportunity, and to help HaMesivta continue to educate each boy according to his individual strengths and capabilities, you can make a difference by donating at Hamesivta.com
