Support Frontline Soldiers with Protective Tefillin and Mezuzos

Mitzvos for the IDF, founded by Rabbi and Chazzan Dovid Caytak of Yerushalayim, began as a simple effort to provide soldiers with essential mitzvah items. Today, it has developed into a movement that strengthens the Jewish identity and spiritual connection of soldiers across the country.

Founded by Rabbi Dovid Caytak of Yerushalayim, through the work of MIDF – Mitzvos for the IDF, the presence of Yiddishkeit within the Israeli army continues to grow in a meaningful and powerful way. What began as a simple effort to provide soldiers with essential mitzvah items has developed into a movement that strengthens the Jewish identity and spiritual connection of soldiers across the country.

Every week, soldiers on bases and in the field receive tefillin, mezuzos, and tzitzis. For many of them, these items become the first step toward reconnecting with their Yiddishkeit. Whether it is a soldier putting on tefillin for the first time, a mezuzah being placed on a base doorway, or a small group gathering for a Yom Tov, these moments bring kedusha into places where it is deeply needed.

Since October 7th, the demand has only grown. Soldiers actively ask for opportunities to perform mitzvos, and many express how these connections give them strength, purpose, and comfort during difficult times. Commanders and army rabbis across multiple units have partnered in this effort, recognizing the importance of providing soldiers with spiritual support alongside their physical needs.

The impact is visible across the army. From the Gaza periphery to bases throughout the country, MIDF is having an ever-increasing impact. Through consistent visits, personal relationships, and the distribution of mitzvah items, MIDF continues to ensure that wherever Jewish soldiers stand, Yiddishkeit stands with them.

This growing movement reflects a simple truth: when given the opportunity, Jewish soldiers want to connect to their heritage. By bringing mitzvos directly to them, MIDF helps make that connection possible—one soldier, one mitzvah, and one moment of kedusha at a time.

As Israel engages in war with Iran and Hezbollah, Mitzvos for the IDF is running a campaign to provide frontline soldiers with protective tefillin and mezuzos. Donate today to help us reach more soldiers.
