Soaring Opening Show Launches Week of ‘Tzamah’ Events
‘Tzamah’ burst open on Tuesday night as thousands gathered for a powerful kickoff featuring the Rebbe’s Yud Tes Kislev letter and stirring footage of the Rebbe singing. Over the next eight days, more than 12,000 visitors are expected daily for farbrengens, shiurim, a Chassidus book fair, and a major Niggunim concert.
The annual ‘Tzamah’ events opened Tuesday night with thousands of participants at the Binyanei HaUma Convention Center in Yerushalayim. The massive, powerful central show kicked off in high gear, as the immense crowd was first shown the Rebbe’s historic letter regarding the Yud Tes Kislev farbrengens, followed by moving video footage of the Rebbe singing.
This year, the mega-events will span eight consecutive days. Approximately 12,000 people are expected to visit daily, totaling tens of thousands throughout the convention. The organizers have placed special emphasis on the richness of the content, which includes in-depth farbrengens, fascinating classes in Chassidus, dedicated gatherings, abundant refreshments for participants, and, of course, the Chassidus book fair offering prices accessible to all.
The highlight of the event is the massive Niggunim concert featuring Avraham Fried, Akiva, Benaia Barabi, and Motty Steinmetz. The performance combines stirring Niggunim with strengthening content throughout the show; selected excerpts of Chassidus are presented in fascinating parallel to stories of heroism and faith shared by hostages who returned from Hamas captivity.
In addition to the general public in the evenings, the mornings are dedicated to youth: approximately 300 schools from across the country—along with teaching staff and the majority of their students—are expected to arrive at the Binyanei HaUma complex during the Tzamah days to absorb inspiration and connect with the world of Chassidus.
Separate women’s events and concerts are held throughout the week, including a presentation by Ruchama Ben-Yosef, sister of performer Akiva. Special hours allow women to shop for seforim at the Chassidus book fair. Nshei readers can view photos here.
