A prominent delegation of Lubavitch rabbonim and askanim visited the Skverer Rebbe, Harav Dovid Twersky, in New Square, New York, to formally invite him to participate in the upcoming Grand Siyum HaRambam, to be held on Wednesday at the Bedford Union Armory.

The delegation included members of the International Rambam Committee, among them event organizer Rabbi Yossi Butman, Rabbi Velvel Butman, mashpia Rabbi Michoel Seligson, and Crown Heights activist Rabbi Shmuel Butler. Also joining was Crown Heights mashpia Rabbi Nachman Yosef Twersky, a cousin of the Skverer Rebbe, with both tracing their lineage to the Chernobyl dynasty.

The Grand Siyum HaRambam will mark the official completion of the 45th cycle of learning kol haTorah kulah by hundreds of thousands of Yidden worldwide, following the Rebbe’s takanah.

The Skverer Rebbe maintains a warm relationship with Chabad and with the Rebbe, and on numerous occasions has sent a personal shliach to represent him at the Grand Siyum HaRambam in New York.

In previous siyumim, the Skverer Rebbe sent honored rabbonim of the community to represent him, including Rabbi Harav Aharon Goldmintzer, dayan of the Skverer kehillah, and Harav Yosef Yisroel Eisenberger, a member of the Skverer Beis Din.

During the visit, the delegation presented the Skverer Rebbe with the newly released set of Rambam Hamevuar, which includes the Rebbe’s explanations on the Mishneh Torah of the Rambam.

The Skverer Rebbe expressed his appreciation for the delegation and shared his thoughts and words of encouragement.
