Sixty Years of Rashi Sichos Marked with New Publication

A new booklet by Or Hachasidus for the first two parshios in the Torah marks the conclusion of sixty years since the Rebbe began the famous ‘Rashi Sichos.’

This Shabbos marks sixty years since the Rebbe began the famous “Rashi Sichos,” which became the foundation of much of Likkutei Sichos and illuminated a revolutionary approach to the study of Rashi.

The Rashi Sichos began in 5725, in memory of the Rebbe’s mother, Rebbetzin Chana, who had passed away a few weeks earlier, on Vov Tishrei. For an entire year, each week the Rebbe dedicated a sicha to a Rashi on the parsha. And from that point onward, a Rashi explanation became a regular feature of the Rebbe’s Shabbos farbrengens.

Renowned throughout the Torah world for their depth and clarity, these sichos opened a new pathway in understanding Rashi. The Rebbe based his approach on Rashi’s own words: “I have only come to explain peshuto shel mikra.” Every comment, and even what Rashi chose not to say, was analyzed through that lens, uncovering profound meaning within the simplicity of the text.

To mark this milestone, Or HaChasidus, known for its clear adaptations and collections of the Rebbe’s Torah, has released a new booklet titled ‘Otzros Rashi.’ This publication features three of the Rebbe’s explanations on Rashi on Parshas Bereishis and three on Parshas Noach.

The booklet is an excerpt from the forthcoming Otzros Rashi sefer, part of the acclaimed Otzros HaTorah series, which presents the Rebbe’s Torah on the parsha in various styles and formats: in-depth analyses, concise insights, chassidic explanations, and more, designed for learners of every level.
