Shneur Hirsch, a Crown Heights resident who employed tens of Lubavitchers in his position as vice president of a furniture company, and was known as a ba’al tzedaka who helped many, passed away on Wednesday, 26 Tishrei, 5781.
He was 39 years old and passed away after battling an extended illness.
Shneur was vice president of the Modway furniture company through which he and his partners employed tens of Lubavitchers around the globe. He helped many families in need and others in a quiet fashion, acquiring for himself the name as a ba’al chessed and a ba’al tzedaka.
Friends recall his yiras shomayim and his quiet way of helping others with no fanfare, saying that the Chabad community suffered a huge loss today with his passing.
He is survived by his wife Devorah Leah and six young children.
He is also survived by parents R’ Gil and Henia Hirsch and siblings Chana Kagen – Monsey, NY, Yossi Hirsch – Monsey, NY, Nechama Dina Samuels – Howard Beach, NY, Devorah Leah Marosov – Flatbush, NY, Mordy Hirsch – Crown Heights, Chaya Lebovic – Crown Heights, Shaina Gurevich, Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Thursday at 12:00 PM at 770 (no chapel) followed by burial at 1:00 PM at Montefiore Cemetery.
