While in Morocco for a regional Kinus Hashluchim, tens of shluchim gathered at the home where the Rambam lived in Fez, Morocco, and held a Siyum Harambam.
Over 100 shluchim are participating in the Kinus, which is being hosted by Chabad of Morocco, led by Rabbi Levi Banon. While shluchim have been stationed in Morocco for many decades, this is the first time the country has hosted a Kinus Hashluchim, with shluchim from a number of countries traveling to join. Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice-chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, also joined from New York.
The Kinus, which began on Monday and will continue through Wednesday, will deal with the special challenges facing the Jewish communities in the world, security challenges, poverty, education, anti-Semitism and more.The Kinus will focus on the country’s Jewish past, present and future, and on the special relations between the Muslim and Jewish communities.
Shluchim participating in the Kinus are stationed in Angola, Bulgaria, the Canary Islands, Congo, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, Guinea, Ione, Iceland, the Ivory Coast, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Nigeria, Northern Cyprus, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia and more.
