Family, friends and students gathered for a celebration marking the completion of Shas by Rabbi Yitzchok Lerman, shliach in New Jersey and maggid shiur in Morristown Yeshiva.
Rabbi Yitzchok Lerman, shliach in Rutherford, New Jersey, and maggid shiur in Tomchei Temimim Morristown, celebrated a Siyum Hashas with family, friends and current and former students.
Rabbi Lerman serves as Rabbi of Congregation Beth El of Rutherford, NJ, and is the Director of Chabad of the Meadowlands. He also teaches in Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimmim in Queens, NY, and is lecturer in Jewish History at the “Yeshivacation” – Machon Chana institute’s summer program, since 2011.
Rabbi Lerman spoke about his journey in completing Shas, learning at his own pace, but constantly studying. He stressed the importance of celebrating each milestone, and encouraged others to learn as well, and to keep going, no matter how long it takes. He thanked his teachers, family and students for their support.
His father, R’ Gershon Lerman, spoke proudly about the time management of his son which enabled him to complete Shas even with his many responsibilities.
“Yitzchok teaches full time at Yeshiva, is a shliach who gives shiurim in the evenings, and is a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. It’s impressive how he finds the time to learn on his own and complete Shas,” he said.
The Koren Gemara Card was given out as a teshura to assist others with their learning.
