A special celebration was held in Kollel Tiferes Zkeinim Levi Yitzchak this week. After many months of the study, the Kollel attendees marked the completion of Maseches Sukkah with a festive seudah.

The Kollel, headed by Rabbi Dovid Krasnianski, Rosh Kollel, and Rabbi Shmuel Pevzner, Menahel, gathers in Beis Medrash Ner Menachem – Ner Michael every day to study Gemara and Chassidus.

The Kollel was founded based on the Rebbe‘s directive to establish learning centers for men and women who are retired or not obligated to spend long hours at work. The Rebbe even requested that the Kollel be named after his father, Harav Levi Yitzchak, and personally participated in the first Kollels established.

A special guest at the Siyum was one of the maggidei shiurim in Yeshivas Mir, Harav Mordechai Press who came to Crown Heights for the occasion. Harav Press spoke of the significance of a Siyum, and traced the sources for making a celebration from Gemara through contemporary Poskim.

The masechta was finished by the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Dovid Krasnianski . Rabbi Ya’akov Nimni, Rosh Kollel Ner Michael started Maseches Yoma, which the Kollel will begin learning. Harav Nissan Mangel, Rov of K’sav Sofer Shul spoke for the assembled about the importance of learning Torah, especially at the age where there are fewer burdens of work and raising a family.
