On Monday night, a girl was walking home from Beis Rivka Seminary when she was struck by a car at the intersection of New York Avenue and Crown Street. The driver, who had been traveling up New York Avenue, suddenly made a left turn on Crown Street, hitting her and knocking her to the ground. Shockingly, the driver paused, watched her fall, then maneuvered around her and sped off.

A frum passerby acted quickly, taking a photo of the car’s license plate and staying with the girl until Hatzalah arrived. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation and, Baruch Hashem, was found to be fine, though she remains in shock and is experiencing significant pain from the impact.

“It’s a miracle that she’s okay,” her mother told Anash.org. “We’re still trying to track down this reckless driver who ran off. If anyone has information or surveillance footage from the area of Crown Street and New York Avenue, please reach out through Anash.org.”

The mother also expressed deep gratitude to the man who stopped to help, saying, “His quick thinking made all the difference. If he sees this, we would love for him to reach out through Anash so we can personally thank him.”

A police report has been filed, and efforts are underway to identify the driver.

We appreciate your feedback. If you have any additional information to contribute to this article, it will be added below.

  1. This car has 63 parking and camera violations and got over $4000 in tickets in the past 3 years. Definitely a habitual reckless driver. Hopefully the police will be interested in pursuing this guy – after all, they’ve mamash been raking in the cash from him.

If anyone is bored, looking through the list of violations may help determine which areas he frequents and where you can find him…

  2. THAT GUY BELONGS BEHIND BARS and of course should never be allowed to drive EVER AGAIN. are the police on this??

  3. All His Violations were in Manhattan and Bronx, this makes it much easier to narrow down the suspect.
Most of the violations were committed by school zones, most probably the suspect has kids that he takes to school or lives in Bronx or Manhattan.
The Suspects violations were committed around 4:00 AM – 7:00 AM or 1:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
Hotspot of the violations were around the 6:00 AM hour and scattered in the PM hours.
Suspect probably goes between Manhattan and Bronx often.
The rout that WAZE (another version of GPS) gives, there are many Schools along the way.
You may be able to find the suspect on this rout, at around these times.
