On his first official state visit to Eretz Yisroel, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, prayed at the Kosel before touring the newly opened Kosel Tunnel excavations, with significant discoveries from the Second Beis Hamikdash.

At the beginning of his official visit to Eretz Yisroel, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife, Mrs. Jeanette Rubio, together with Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife, Mrs. Sara Netanyahu, as well as U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and his wife, Mrs. Janet Huckabee, visited and prayed at the Kosel Plaza in Yerushalayim.

The visit opened with the recitation of a chapter of Tehillim and a special prayer for the President of the United States, expressing gratitude for his steadfast support of the State of Israel at this time, and for his efforts toward regional security and fostering peace between the two nations. The group also prayed for the immediate and safe return of the hostages to their families.

After the prayers, the guests toured the recently opened archaeological excavations in the Kosel Tunnels. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, presented several important discoveries from the Second Temple period.

At the conclusion of the visit, Secretary Rubio signed the Kosel guest book, writing: “May peace reign upon this Holy Land and in the world.”
