Satmar Rebbe Learns Chassidus at Athens Chabad
En route to Eretz Yisroel, the Satmar Rebbe of Kiryas Yoel, Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum, made a full-day stop in Athens, Greece, where he spent hours davening and learning at the local Chabad led by shliach Rabbi Mendel Hendel.
While traveling to Eretz Yisroel for the chanukas habayis of a girls’ school in Bnei Brak, the Satmar Rebbe of Kiryas Yoel, Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum, made a full-day stop in Athens, Greece.
The Satmar Rebbe visited the Chabad Lubavitch Center of Athens, led by the Rebbe’s shliach, Rabbi Mendel Hendel, where he davened Shacharis and was warmly welcomed by local community members and travelers. After davening, he made a l’chaim with the locals and guests, creating a warm atmosphere of respect and achdus.
He also toured the community’s mikvah, a beautiful facility originally built and supported through the generosity of Satmar Chassidim from the United States.
Throughout the day, he remained at the Chabad House, spending hours immersed in Torah learning. The Satmar Rebbe, who is a descendant of the Alter Rebbe, was seen learning from the Chassidus Chabad seforim, particularly the maamarim of the Rebbe Maharash.
