Before Sukkos 5690/1929, ninety years ago, when The Frierdiker Rebbe was in New York, he bought there 5 esrogim and lulavim and sent them to Riga to his family. In the letter to Rebbetzin Nechama Dina, he gave detailed instructions for whom those were:
1 was for his mother, Rebbetzin Shterna Sarah,
1 for his wife and his younger daughter Sheindel,
1 for his eldest daughter Chana, her husband, RaSHaG and their son.
1 for his middle daughter, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka and her husband, the Rebbe, who spent Tishrei in Riga
The last one for Reb Eliyahu Chaim Althaus, the family friend and one of the closest Chassidim.
The letter is part of the collection housed in Moscow.
