Within hours of CKids Shabbaton opening registration, an unprecedented number of families signed up. Taking place in Crown Heights, Nissan 2–4 (March 20–22), the weekend will bring together Jewish children from communities around the world.
The annual Shabbaton has become a highlight on the calendar of hundreds of Jewish families worldwide. The Shabbaton and JewQ international championship unites top participants for an inspiring, high-energy weekend centered on Torah knowledge, Jewish pride, and meaningful connection.
“For many of these CKids families, raising proud young Jews in today’s world could feel isolating,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “Bringing them together in Crown Heights for a Shabbos lets them know they are part of a global community, and strengthens Jewish identity worldwide.”
This year’s Shabbaton is expected to be the largest yet, as finalists prepare to compete on the international stage in the JewQ Championship. Rabbi Zalmy Lowenthal, Director of CKids International at Merkos 302, shares, “The CKids Shabbaton creates a powerful space where children and parents experience Jewish pride, inspiration, and connection. The energy of this weekend leaves a lasting impact on every family that attends.”
Throughout the weekend, children will enjoy an incredible camp experience, exciting trips, and opportunities to connect with Jewish peers from around the world. The unique atmosphere of Crown Heights adds a powerful dimension, making it more meaningful and personal.
Parents attending the Shabbaton will participate in a rich program featuring inspiring speakers and engaging workshops, ensuring the weekend is meaningful for the entire family.
At the heart of the weekend is the JewQ International Torah Championship, the culmination of months of dedication and learning by the young scholars in their own free time. Rabbi Mendel Raskin, Director of JewQ at Merkos 302, explains, “The championship is about much more than competition; it celebrates commitment and the pride that comes from sustained Torah learning.” It highlights not only achievement, but a deep connection to Torah values.
With excitement already building and space limited, families are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. The CKids Shabbaton and JewQ International Torah Championship promises to be a powerful and unforgettable weekend, shaping the next generation of Jewish leaders.
