Reb Meir HaCohen Lerer, a long-time resident of Nachalat Har Chabad, and a great ba’al chessed, passed away Wednesday. He was 75 years old.
With sadness, we inform you of the passing of Reb Meir HaCohen Lerer, 75, a veteran of the Nachalat Har Chabad neighborhood in Eretz Yisroel.
Reb Meir was well known as a ba’al chessed in his community and beyond. Decades ago, he founded the “Signon” ironworks factory in the Kiryat Malachi industrial area, and provided a living for many fellow yidden by employing them there.
He is survived by his wife Doba, and his children, R’ Benjamin – Beitar Illit, Israel, R’ Avremi Lerer – Ashkelon, Israel, R’ Yossi Lerer – Kiryat Malachi, Israel, Mrs. Chana Wilenkin – Ashkelon, Israel and R’ Mendy Lerer – Ashkelon, Israel.
His funeral will depart tonight at 9:00 P.M. from his home in Kiryat Malachi and at 11:00 P.M. from the Shamgar funeral home in Yerushalayim.
