On Monday evening, Yeshivas Lubavitch Tiferes Yisroel (YLTY) hosted an inspiring Rosh Chodesh Kislev event that left a profound impact on the yeshiva community and the broader Ramat Bet Shemesh Aleph area. The evening celebrated this significant Chabad Yom Tov with words of inspiration, unity, and spiritual renewal.
The evening featured an impressive lineup of guest speakers who captured the spirit of Rosh Chodesh Kislev while connecting it to personal growth and resilience.
Rabbi Schneur Aizenman, Mashpia at YLTY, opened the talks with a deep dive into the historical and spiritual significance of Rosh Chodesh Kislev as a Lubavitcher Yom Tov. He also shared a moving interpretation of the yeshiva’s journey, highlighting the miraculous nature of its challenges and successes, which serve as a testament to divine providence and perseverance.
Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik, Rabbi of the Ohel Sholom Congregation in Ramat Beit Shemesh, first described his family’s multigenerational ties with Chabad from the times of his Zaida’s unique role as Rov in Chaslavitch, followed by his youth in Chicago. With warmth and charisma, he reflected on his own experiences and the importance of embracing Chassidic stories and warmth and a life devoted to Torah.
Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon, Rabbi of Gush Etzion and a dear friend of YLTY, shared extraordinary personal stories of faith and Mesiras Nefesh during the war. He emphasized the importance of holding firmly to Torah values and principles in challenging moments, while also reminding the students that the true purpose of being a Bochur in yeshiva is avoda—inner spiritual work and personal growth—not merely academic achievement.
The event was further elevated by the presence of esteemed Rabbonim from the local and broader community, including:
- Rabbi Yekusiel Farkash, Rov of Kehillas Anash in Yerushalayim
- Rabbi Chaim Faro, Chabad Shliach, RBS
- HaAdmur MiPiaseczna, Harav Kalman Menachem Schapiro, Rabbi of Congregation Aish Kodesh
- Rabbi Abisid, Rov of the Chabad community (Hamerkaz) RBS
- Rabbi Aharon Schmidt, Chabad Shliach, Anglo community RBS
- Rabbi Hillel Waxman, Rosh Yeshivas Nachlas Yitzchok
- Rabbi Motti Leitner, member of the Bet Shemesh Municipality
Attendees, including YLTY students, faculty, and community members, were uplifted by the event’s atmosphere of unity, joy, and inspiration. The evening strengthened connections to the Rebbe’s vision and the values of Chabad Chassidus, leaving all participants with a sense of renewed purpose and drive.
YLTY’s new campus in Ramat Bet Shemesh Aleph reflects the yeshiva’s growth and commitment to providing a transformative educational environment. This Rosh Chodesh Kislev event highlighted the yeshiva’s unique role in inspiring Talmidim to achieve spiritual growth, deepen their connection to Torah, and embody the ideals of Chassidus.
