Rav Moshe Nusbacher, a renowned talmid chochom and rosh yeshiva who was the son-in-law of the legendary Lubavitcher mashpia Reb Nachum Goldschmidt, passed away on Wednesday, 1 Adar.
He was 78 years old.
Born on the 25th of Elul, 5707, to his father, Rav Avraham Yosef Nusbacher, he studied in his youth at Yeshivas Or Yisrael L’tzeirim in Petach Tikvah. He later continued his learning at Ponovezh, where he became a close talmid of the roshei yeshiva, Rav Shmuel Rozovsky and Rav Mordechai Shlomo Berman.
Upon reaching marriageable age, he married his wife, Rebbetzin Yonah, the daughter of the renowned Lubavitcher mashpia, Rabbi Menachem Nachum Goldschmidt. Reb Nachum was a legendary figure who merited to learn in cheder on the same bench as the Rebbe in Yekaterinoslav, and later became a pioneer of spreading Chassidus through radio broadcasts in Eretz Yisroel.
After their marriage, the couple established a home of Torah. Rav Nusbacher, known for his deep and clear shiurim, served as a maggid shiur, rosh yeshiva, and rosh kollel in various yeshivos. For years, Rebbetzin Yonah directed a department at Yad L’Achim, helping Jewish women and girls rescued from Arab villages back to Yiddishkeit.
He is survived by his wife, Rebbetzin Yonah, and their children.
The levayah went from his home in Bnei Brak to the Segulah Cemetery in Petach Tikvah.
